I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to the CUPE Local 905 website.  The website has become a vital tool to this union to provide information to our members and the general public.  We have attempted to provide up-to-date news,  upcoming events, new trends in the labour movement and useful documents to assist our members on the workings of this Local.

Local 905 continues to strive for fair and equitable wages for our members, protect the rights of our members, affirm and protect the language of our collective agreements.  We have further instituted co-ordinated bargaining with all our bargaining units of the union to reach successful negotiations.

Our path has never been any clearer than now which is why the union has brought forward a Strategic Directions Plan which outlines our current and future goals and directions.  These new initiatives will place more emphasis on communicating with our members, provide educational workshops which directly relate to the labour movement within York Region, improve our fiscal and financial responsibilities and provide social events for our members with an emphasis on removing obstructions for participation.

Please join me along with the Signing Officers and the Executive Committee in our endeavor to provide sound leadership and improve our Local where we serve, support and protect all members with dignity, equality and respect.
