Richmond Hill faces a strike by municipal workers within hours unless the city gives their union an offer members will accept.
With a legal strike or lockout possible at 12:01 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, bargaining committee members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 905 say they are not close to an agreement.
The city asked the province’s labour ministry for a no board report late last month, suggesting negotiations were stalled.
Talks at the city’s East Beaver Creek Road offices are continuing on Thursday, but local president Katherine Grzejszczak said picket lines will be up tomorrow unless…
