Long term care workers need your support! York Region is forcing 12-hour shifts in their long term care homes starting in 2025. Workers overwhelming voted against this change, citing child care and elder care concerns, as well as health and safety risks resulting from not giving staff enough time to rest and recuperate between shifts. Residents deserve quality care, and that means respecting workers by reversing 12-hour shifts.
