York Region operates two municipal long-term care homes: Newmarket Health Centre and Maple Health Centre.
In the face of chronic worker shortages in LTC, York Region cut 100 full-time positions, left residents waiting longer for care, and walked away from negotiations.
Long-term care workers need permanent full-time jobs and adequate staff to provide quality care for residents.
